ROCKPORT — Youth summer tennis camps are returning to Midcoast Recreation Center this summer with sessions starting at the end of June.

Beginning at the end of June, kids ages 4-18 can participate in 4 different summer tennis camps, based on their age range and skill level. Through games and activities, each camp will teach kids how to play tennis, how to work together as a team, and help keep kids fit and active during the summer, a release noted.

“We are so excited for another fun summer on the courts” says MRC head pro and tennis director Seth Meyer. “I am excited to lead the tennis camps this summer along with our experienced, certified instructors. There are opportunities for kids of all experience levels and we can’t wait to get started!”

The red ball tennis summer camp, for ages 4-7, and the youth summer camp, for ages 7-12, will both be held at MRC’s indoor tennis courts and are open to kids of any skill range. The instructors in each camp will group kids based on their experience to ensure that every kid is learning something new and improving their skills.

The teen summer camp, for ages 11-18, is also available to any skill range, but classes will be held at Camden Hills Regional High School’s outdoor tennis courts.

The high performance camp, for ages 11-18, is for kids who have some experience playing in tournaments and who are looking to improve their stroke technique, strategy, and tactical skills. This camp will also be held on Camden Hills’ outdoor tennis courts.
