ROCKLAND — Midcoast Music Academy’s January student of the month creates his own songs.

Edwin has earned recognition for his great sense of humor, enthusiasm for learning new things, and desire to improve all aspects of his playing, according to MCMA, in a news release. He’s a sharp thinker and has an open-minded approach that serves him well in music and anything he turns his intellect toward. 

Edwin is a well-rounded musician. He has been playing guitar for three years. In addition, he is a songwriter and a vocalist.

After moving to Maine in June, Edwin began taking guitar lessons with Zack.

“His time here at MCMA has proved him to possess all of the qualities we ask of our students of the month- dedication, hard work, receptive to challenges, and accepting of feedback,” said MCMA, in the release.

Recently, he has begun expanding his talents working with Zack to create his own songs. 

Zack said, in the release, "I’m very impressed with Edwin’s progress and I always look forward to our weekly lesson."

Currently, Edwin is working on all original material in his lessons.
