ROCKPORT — Applications are now being accepted for selection as the beneficiary of proceeds from the June 2019 concert by Midcoast Community Chorus (MCC).

MCC’s mission is to “sing as a community for the community.”

Known for its sold-out semi-annual concerts under the direction of Artistic Director Steve Weston, MCC is a vibrant, 170-voice, multigenerational community chorus, according to a news release.

Their June concert is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for a local nonprofit organization addressing community needs and social injustice.

With an average donation of $5,000 per concert, MCC has donated over $75,000 since its founding in 2008.

Previous beneficiaries include: One Community Many Voices, Knox County Health Clinic, New Hope for Women, Maine Farmland Trust, the Restorative Justice Project, Knox County Homeless Coalition, Area Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry, and MCH Meals on Wheels.

An organization interested in applying must be a local nonprofit within the greater Knox County area.

All interested organizations are invited to submit an application online at www.mccsings.org, or download the application and mail it to: Midcoast Community Chorus, P.O. Box 192, Rockport, Maine 04856.

The application deadline is November 1, 2018.
