CAMDEN — The Midcoast Community Chorale (MCChorale), under the direction of Steven Weston, will be newly instituted as an audition-only choir, with its own rehearsal night and schedule of performances.

This offshoot of Midcoast Community Chorus (MCChorus) is in response to the extensive growth the organization has enjoyed over the past ten years with the intention to better meet the evolving needs of the singing community, according to a news release.

MCChorus will continue its mission as an non-auditioned chorus, open to all persons who want to sing, with the usual two performances a year.

Auditions for MCChorale will occur at the First Congregational Church, 55 Elm Street, Camden, and are scheduled from February 9 to 16.

Interested singers may visit the website www. mccsings.org, and proceed to the link for MCChorale Auditions to sign up at available times in the audition schedule, as well to obtain information for audition preparation, expectations, and results.

Artistic Director Steven Weston will open the semester for MCChorale with rehearsals beginning Thursday, February 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Camden.  

MCChorale will provide their repertoire in multiple performances scheduled on the weekend of June 1 in different Midcoast locations.
