The 8th grade Medomak Middle School softball team beat the seventh grade softball team June 12 in the busline league championship 13 to 1.

 

MMS eighth graders started off the first inning with a single from Grace Townsend and then a walk from Ivy McCollett. 

 

Grace Townsend would steal home and Rachel Barbours dropped third strike will allow her to get onto first and allowed for Ivy to make it home giving MMS 8th graders two runs.   MMS seventh grade were held scoreless.  

 

The seventh grade mms team was able to tally up one run. Kylie Jones was hit by a pitch, then stole around the bases, and Olivia Campbell was walked, then Kiki Ames and Hannah Richardson both were hit by a pitch, they scored one run. 

 

The eighth graders scored another run in the top of the third, Ariel Castner got on with a single.  Townsend then hit her home on a triple.

 

During the fourth inning both teams were scoreless.

 

In the fifth inning, MMS eighth graders put up one more run. Molly Emerson had a single and then was hit home by Grace Townsends single.  This ended the fifth inning with MMS eighth graders at 4 to 1.

 

In the top of the sixth, MMS 8th graders broke apart and scored five runs, making it 9 to 1.  Then in the seventh, scored 4 more making it be 13 to 1.  MMS eighth graders were able to keep MMS seventh from scoring anymore runs and they won it 13 to 1.

 

Sidney Nicholls on the mound with Grae Townsend behind the plate struck out 16, walked three and hit three batters.  Nicholls gave up no hits for the seventh graders, as she pitched a NO HITTER!!!

 

Kendall Wymann on the mound for seventh graders.  She had 13 strikeouts and five walks.  She gave up 12 hits.
