Marshall Point begins construction of reproduction barn

PORT CLYDE — The Marshall Point Lighthouse Committee announces that work is underway. Despite the rainy weather this fall, progress has begun on the reproduction turn-of-century Keeper’s Barn and Workshop.

The committee is less than $5,000 short of its $150,000 goal and looks forward to completion of the project before the 2019 tourist season begins, according to a news release.

“Thank you to all of the generous donors who helped to make this special project a reality,” said the committee in the release.

Winter visitors of the lighthouse are reminded to be aware that fewer spaces are available in the upper parking lot due to construction, and to leave closer spots open for those with limited mobility.

The museum and gift shop will be open for Yuletide in St. George, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23 and 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
