Maine Lobster Festival Donates $1,000 to local police officer’s family

    ROCKLAND - The Maine Lobster Festival presented a $1,000 donation to Rockland Police Officer Ken Smith and his family.

    The Smiths’ baby daughter is hospitalized at Boston Children's Hospital with a heart condition. Carl Anderson from the Rockland Fire Department accepted the donation on behalf of the Smith family.

    A benefit dinner and raffle for the family, postponed due to inclement weather, will now take place February 2, at noon. It had initially been planned for 1 p.m., January 20, in the Rockland Elks Lodge.
