ROCKLAND — The Maine Lobster Festival donated $2,500 to local organizations and students of Oceanside High School at its recent Board of Directors meeting.

Midcoast Music Academy received $1,000. MCMA is in downtown Rockland. It’s faculty teaches music lessons to more than 170 local students, and conducts programs in local schools and organizations. This donation will be used to purchase music equipment.

Knox-Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District received $500. This donation will be used to aid with the expenses for the 2019 Knox-Lincoln Conservation Fair. The annual educational event in September welcomes either early elementary or middle school students (alternating years) to the Union Fairgrounds to uncover the connections between the environment and students’ everyday lives. This event is offered free to all student groups, which is made possible only through donations.

Oceanside High School’s Class of 2019 received $1,000. This donation will be used for Project Graduation, an all-night program after graduation that provides a fun and safe environment for the recently graduated seniors to celebrate.
