THOMASTON — Leocadia ‘Laura’ Zukowski Bryson, passed at home Thursday, February 14, 2019. She was born in Grodno, Poland on May 1, 1923 to Walerian and Emilia (Chilmonczyk) Zukowski.

She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, in 1999.

She grew up in Salem, Massachusetts, and graduated from St. John the Baptist Parochial School, Salem High School, and Salem Commercial Business School.

Laura worked as an executive secretary at the G.E. Turbine Division in Lynn, MA. She also was a credit investigator at Almy’s Department Store in Salem.

Laura is survived by two daughters, Ann-Marie (David) Benedict of Eldersburg, MD, Patricia (Tom) Mellor of Thomaston, ME; grandchildren, Craig (Alexandra) Benedict, Scott Benedict, Megan Holden, Molly Mellor; great-granddaughters, Eleanor Szostalo, Penelope Fournier, Aaliyah MacDonald; her cousins, Dianne Chilmonczyk, Dr. Barbara Chilmonczyk and was predeceased by Dr. Waclaw Chilmonczyk (Mary), and Janina and John Chilmonczyk.

She was the sister of the late Henry Zukowski (Joan) of Lee, MA.  She leaves many nieces and nephews.

At her request, there are no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be at St. John Paul II, Shrine of Divine Mercy, St. Peter Street, Salem, MA at a later date. Interment will be private.
