Knox County Sheriff’s Office Detective Justin Twitchell arrested Steven Ridley, 67, of Nobleboro, Aug. 8 on a warrant charging Ridley with Sexual Abuse of a Minor Under the age of 16, and Furnishing Liquor to a Minor.  Both are Class D misdemeanor offenses.

Twitchell initiated an investigation on July 19 on information received from Detective Sergeant Joel Neal, who is with the Rockland Police Department.  Due to the offenses crossing municipal lines within the county, Twitchell took the lead on the investigation and developed probable cause to obtain a warrant for Ridley’s arrest, according to a news release from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

Ridley currently is still at the Knox County Jail, police said.
