Knox County Criminal Docket, closed cases

    ROCKLAND — The following cases were closed in Knox County Unified Court from Aug. 6-9.

    Chad Benner, 34, of Friendship, assault, $450 fine; criminal threatening, dismissed.

    Eric S. Benner, 34, of Waldoboro, unlawful possession of scheduled drug, $400 fine, 180 days in jail with all but 48 our suspended, probation one year.

    Clifford D. Currier, 62, of Davidson, N.C., operating under the influence (alcohol), dismissed.

    Lydia G. Haddock, 36, of Rockland, criminal trespass, unconditional discharge.

    David B. Harlor, 29, of Old Orchard Beach, operating under the influence (alcohol), $750 fine; license suspended 150 days; failure to register vehicle, dismissed.

    Samuel Lee Merrifield, 31, of Warren, disorderly conduct, offensive words, gestures, dismissed; disorderly conduct, loud unreasonable noise, 48 hours in jail; violating condition of release, 48 days in jail.

    Roger E. Rowling Jr., 53, of Cushing, operating under the influence (alcohol)-no test, two priors, dismissed; operating vehicle without license-conditions/restrictions, $200 fine, 10 days in jail.

    Chad W. Salvas, 40, of Rockland, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, two counts, four years in jail with all but 18 months suspended, probation two years, restitution $11,416.87; forgery, three counts counts, dismissed; theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, dismissed; failure to appear after bailed, four years in jail with all but 18 months suspended, probation two years; violating condition of release, dismissed.

    Salvas pleaded guilty to felony theft for stealing more than $11,000 from J & J Lobster in Rockland and failure to appear in Knox County Unified Court Aug. 7.

    According the court document, Salvas was the former dock manager at the lobster business. He was initially charged in May 2017 and in August 2017, he failed to appear for his initial court appearance and was arrested again.

    Salvas had written checks to himself and others on the company’s account in January 2016.

    He must repay the business $11,417 as a condition of his probation.

    The Maine Marine Patrol also assisted Rockland Police in the investigation.

    Victoria Scott, 25, of Rockport, violating condition of release, 30 days in jail.
