ROCKPORT — The Midcoast Recreation Center announced in a Dec. 11 press release they have added a familiar face to the organization’s staff as Jo Bridges is returning to the Midcoast as the MRC Assistant Arena Manager.

Bridges, who will also contribute through MRC’s developmental hockey programs and be an assistant coach for the high school ice hockey club Midcoast Ice Cats team, began skating at the MRC in 2002 at three-years-old.

Bridges competed for the Maine Coast Skaters Association for 11 years and won two state championships before playing at the Midget AAA level of the Ontario Hockey Academy from 2013-2016. After OHA, he played two seasons for Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire and concluded his competitive ice hockey career with the Boston Bandits of the United States Premier Hockey League.

“Jo brings a lot to the table having been through the Rousseau’s, Andrew’s and Stride Envy programs for many years and is excited to give back to his home hockey community,” said Jesse Simko, the MRC Arena Director.
