    CAMDEN — Lectures, games, literature, and financial assistance are many of the programs provided by Camden Public Library, March 7 - 14.

    Thursday, March 7, 12 p.m. –  Free informational session on “Investment Strategies: More To It Than You Think!” offered at the Camden Public Library by Twin Shores Wealth Management. Lunch will be provided – contact the library at 236-3440  if you are interested in attending.

    Thursday, March 7, 4 p.m., at the Camden Public Library – Art Journaling for Adults. Join Miss Amy each Thursday for a different prompt. Bring your own journal, all other supplies provided.

    Thursday, March 7, 6:30 p.m. – Magnet School Information Session at the Camden Public Library presented by the new Maine Ocean School. Do you know a high schooler whose dream job is to work as a marine scientist, boat captain, engineer, or marina operator? The Maine Ocean School, a public magnet high school located in Searsport, Maine, is the place for them!

    Thursday, March 7, 6:30 p.m. – You Go Girl! Midcoast Women host a panel of young women who embody the “you go girl” spirit, at the Camden Public Library.

    Friday, March 8, 11 a.m. – Selected Read-Alouds for adults at the Camden Public Library. We never outgrow listening to stories read aloud! Every Friday morning.

    Friday, March 8, 4 p.m. – Camden Chess Club. Game play for all levels. Every Friday at the Camden Public Library.

    Tuesday, March 12, 9:30 a.m. – My Next Career Move: Build Your Career with New Ventures Maine, offered at the Camden Public Library. Learn how your current skills connect to future careers. Identify high-growth job fields. Explore education and training options. Strengthen your resume for a targeted job search. This is a four-week class; register at newventuresmaine.org.

    Tuesday, March 12, 1 p.m. – Leer y charlar Spanish conversation group, meets each second and fourth Tuesday at the Camden Public Library. Fluent speakers welcome to join!

    Tuesday, March 12, 1 p.m. – Tuesday Book Club. The club meets each second Tuesday of the month at the Camden Public Library, new members always welcome. The book for this month is Mrs. Sherlock Holmes by Brad Ricca. FMI: call Mary at the library, 236-3440.

    Tuesday, March 12, 7 p.m. – So You Want to be a Modern Homesteader? Author and local homesteader Kristen Lie-Neilsen will speak about her experiences starting a homestead, as featured in her new book by the same title. At the Camden Public Library.

    Wednesday, March 13, 1 p.m. – Tax Readiness for the Self-Employed. Learn how to organize your financial records, understand your tax responsibilities, become familiar with tax forms, and file your taxes with confidence. This workshop is designed for sole-proprietors. Offered for free by New Ventures Maine, at the Camden Public Library. Sign up with jenn.dobransky@maine.edu.

    Thursday, March 14, 7 p.m. – Financial Planning for College informational presentation at the Camden Public Library. Future college students and their parents or guardians are welcomed to ask questions and learn about the steps involved in planning.
