ROCKPORT — United Midcoast Charities (UMC) will present its 2018 grantees as part of a community celebration at the Rockport Opera House on Thursday, September 20.

Representatives from the nearly fifty organizations receiving 2018 UMC grants will gather beginning at 4 p.m. The public is invited to join the grant awardees from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to celebrate with music from The Right Track, delicious appetizers from Café Miranda and drinks from a cash bar. The “Unsung Hero” award for community volunteer of the year will also be announced during the event.

“We want everyone to join us to learn about the nonprofit organizations we serve and to celebrate the great work being done in our communities,” said UMC Executive Director Megan Williams, in a press release. “This is a great opportunity to meet the hardworking staff and volunteers who provide essential services to our neighbors, to support UMC and simply have a good time together.”

Tickets are available for $20 in advance on the events page at unitedmidcoastcharities.org or by calling (207) 236-2299. If space allows, tickets will be available at the door via cash or check for $25.
