CAMDEN — Gartley and Dorsky Engineering and Surveying, Inc., of Camden and Damariscotta added three new professionals to its growing engineering team: Stephen G. Mischissin, P.E., Senior Mechanical Engineer; Paul Curtis, P.E., Structural Project Engineer; and Alyssa Gartley, E.I., Civil Design Engineer.

Steve Mischissin, P.E., senior mechanical engineer, earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University and brings more than 38 years of experience in mechanical engineering and project management. His expertise is in HVAC design, infrastructure design, district energy systems, energy management and building operation and maintenance. He is licensed as a professional engineer in Maine, California, Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania.

He is also a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional and a long-term member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Mischissin works in the Camden office of Gartley and Dorsky and lives in Camden with his wife Ann.

Paul Curtis, P.E., structural project engineer, graduated from Rockland District Regional High School in 2005 and obtained a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Maine in 2009,
graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Curtis went on to obtain an M.S. in civil engineering from the University of Maine with focuses in structural and geotechnical tngineering and was a graduate research assistant at the Advanced Structures and Composites Center (ASCC).

Curtis brings more than 10 years of experience in structural engineering, project management, project construction oversight and transmission engineering to the growing structural team at Gartley and Dorsky’s Camden office.

Paul is a licensed Professional Engineer in Maine and Rhode Island. He relocated to Midcost Maine with his wife Laura, who is an attorney at Strout and Payson, P.A., and their young daughter.

Alyssa Gartley, E.I., civil design engineer, graduated from Erskine Academy in 2013 and obtained a B.S. in civil engineering at the University of Maine in 2017. Gartley interned at Gartley and Dorsky in the summer of 2016 and joined the Camden office full-time in April 2018 after completing her engineering degree.

Gartley and Dorsky has a 20-plus year history providing surveying, civil engineering, structural engineering, environmental permitting, wetland identification, and soils and septic services, according to a news release. Adding mechanical engineering while augmenting existing disciplines will allow Gartley and Dorsky to continue to provide the highest level of professional
service to Midcoast Maine.

Recent and current commercial projects include First National Bank in Ellsworth, Belfast Soup Kitchen, The First Amendment Museum at the Gannett House, and the City of Belfast’s new Public Works facility.

Gartley and Dorsky also provides engineering and surveying services for hundreds of smaller projects each year, serving local businesses and individuals alike.

In addition to private sector work, Gartley and Dorsky performs significant work for municipalities, land trusts and various nonprofit organizations.
