Free parenting class offered in Waldo County

    BELFAST- The CPPC Family Resource HUB and the Waldo Child & Parent Council are pleased to announce they will offer a free parent education class. Active Parenting, First Five Years will begin June 5, 2019.

    Parents of children 0-5 attending this fun four-week class will learn information on their child’s temperament and how to teach self-calming methods. Parents will learn ways to strengthen their relationships with their children while also encouraging positive behavior. Information on brain development will be discussed, along with the ages and stages of child development.     

    First Five Years will be presented during four two-hour sessions on June 5,12, 19, 26, 2019. Classes will be held at the Belfast Family Resource HUB, 8 Court St. Belfast (Spring St. Entrance), from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A light meal will be served, and childcare is available. Everything is free.

    Broadreach is the representative of the Waldo County Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention (CAN) Council of Maine, delivering programs supported by the Department of Health & Human Services and Maine Children’s Trust.  

    All are welcome and registration is required.
