Flags in Maine lowered to half-staff as act of respect for the Nov. 7 California shooting victims

    AUGUSTA — As an act of respect for the victims of the of the horrific act of violence perpetrated Nov. 7 in Thousand Oaks, California, Governor Paul R. LePage has directed the United States flag and the State of Maine flag be flown at half-staff immediately until sunset on November 10, 2018.

    "Ann and I are tremendously saddened by the shooting in Thousand Oaks in California," said Governor LePage, in a news release. "We send our deepest condolences to the all of those who have been affected by this tragedy."

    President Donald J. Trump issued a proclamation today directing flags to half-staff as a mark of respect for the victims of the tragedy in California.
