Erskine girls basketball edges Medomak Valley in nail-biter

SOUTH CHINA — The Medomak Valley varsity girls basketball team hit the road Friday, Jan. 4 to challenge Erskine Academy in South China in a game that amounted to be a nail-biting contest.

Unfortuatnely, for the Panthers, Erskine Academy edged the guests out with Erskine collecting a 47-46 victory. 

With the loss, Medomak Valley dropped to 6-2 on the season with both losses coming on the road. 

Medomak Valley possessed a 12-8 lead after the opening quarter and Erskine took 24-18 advantages into the halftime pause. Following the third quarter, Medomak Valley held a 31-28 lead. 

Scoring for Erskine Academy were Sarah Praul (two points), MacKenzie Roderick (two), Joanna Linscott (six), Lydia Boucher (seven), Alyssa Savage (seven), Jordan Linscott (15) and Emily Clark (six). 

Scoring for Medomak Valley were Aubrey Schaeffer (three points), Abby Lash (nine), Maddy White (10), Kayla Donlin (six), Sadie Cohen (six) and Lydia Simmons (12). 

The Panthers will return to action in Waldoboro for its next contest on Tuesday, Jan. 8 against Cony at 6:30 p.m.
