Diamondbacks repeat as Medomak Valley Little League softball champions

WALDOBORO — For the second season in a row, the Diamondbacks claimed the Medomak Valley Little League softball championship.
The top-seeded, undefeated Diamondbacks met the third-seeded Fillies in the league championship at Waldoboro’s Foster Field on June 11.
In the championship contest, the Diamondbacks collected a 14-0 victory.
The Diamondbacks tallied five runs in the opening inning, four in the second and five in the third.
Collecting hits for the Diamondbacks were Hope Mason (two singles, RBI), Kytana Williamson (single, RBI), Olivia Pelkey (single, RBI), Sidney Nicholls (single, double, three RBIs), Acadia Dinsmore (single, two RBIs), Claudia Feeney (single, two RBIs), Corrie Simmons (single), Ariel Castner (RBI) and Ivy McColett (single, two RBIs).
In the pitcher’s circle for the Diamondbacks, Williamson fired off a no-hitter in the victory.
