Dance Workshops and Audition Information for Camden Hills Fall Musical

Fri, 08/10/2018 - 8:15pm

Students planning on auditioning for the Camden Hills fall musical Anything Goes are encouraged to attend dance workshops on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Aug. 21-23, from 3-4:30 p.m. in Strom Auditorium. Although these workshops are not required, they are designed for students who are new to dance or who want to be part of the workshopping process for the choreography. Participants will be introduced to some of the dance styles including tap that will be used in the show and should wear solid sole shoes (or bring tap shoes if they have them).

Auditions will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Aug. 28-30 8/28,  from 4-8 p.m. Students are expected to come all three days. Tuesday will be individual vocal auditions and students should join the Anything Goes Schoology group (the access code is T466K-SRS7M) to sign up for their 5-minute time slot. Students should plan to arrive 15 minutes before their allotted time. Wednesday’s session will be scene reading, with a little more singing and a lot of dancing. Thursday will be “callback” day where leads, featured singers, lead dancers, and ensemble roles will be decided.

Guidelines for the audition process are posted on Schoology. Anyone having difficulties accessing the information should contact Rick Ash (rick.ash@fivetowns.net) or Gretchen Henderson (gretchen.henderson@fivetowns.net).

Because the auditions are before the official start of school, this may be an unavoidable conflict for some. Please contact the director in advance if you need to arrange an alternate time (gretchen.henderson@fivetowns.net).
