Crashes, cancellations, postponements result of April snowstorm

Mon, 04/08/2019 - 2:45pm

A wet, slippery snowfall is creating treacherous conditions along the Midcoast. While first responders are tending to crashes, vehicles off the roads, or stuck on hills, at least one town office is shutting down for the day. Two crashes along Route 1 in Lincolnville happened almost simultaneously, pressing the need for additional manpower, including a Rockland ambulance, Lincolnville firefighters and Camden police to help out.

The Rockport Town Office will be closing at 3 p.m. today due to the weather. However, the scheduled Select Board workshop and meeting will be held this evening.

The RSU 13 budget meeting scheduled for this evening is postponed; new date to be announced.

Maine House and Senate Sessions are cancelled on Tuesday, April 9. Committee meetings will continue as scheduled on Tuesday.
