Celebrate April, Poetry Month at Lincolnville library

Event has passed

LINCOLNVILLE — Local poet Janet N. Gold extends an invitation to anyone who enjoys poetry to join her to celebrate Poetry Month on Wednesday afternoons, April 10, 17, and 24, from 3 - 4:30 p.m., at the Lincolnville Library.

“Come with poems you have written or favorite works by poets whose work you enjoy,” said the Library, in a news release.

In addition to sharing and enjoying poems together, each session will highlight a particular poetic form or theme, followed by a fun exercise to experiment with that form or theme in our own words, so bring along a notebook and a pen.

Janet N. Gold is Professor Emerita of the University of New Hampshire, where she taught Latin American Literature. She is the author of several books on the literature and culture of Central America and 4 collections of her own poetry, 2 of which are bilingual collaborations with poets from Honduras and Guatemala. She lives in Camden.

Lincolnville Community Library is located at 208 Main Street in Lincolnville. For further information call 207-706-3896 or email questions@lincolnvillelibrary.org
