ROCKPORT — A Rockport woman was found dead on a walking trail located behind the Nativity Lutheran Church on Old County Road Sunday morning, July 29.

Rockport police received a report around 11:30 a.m. that a member of the church was walking on the nature trail and discovered the woman who was later identified as Sarah Chittick, 34, of Rockport, according to Camden Police Detective Curt Andrick.

Andrick confirmed that following an investigation, police have determined that the death was accidental and not suspicious. 

“The death was likely caused by a drug overdose,” Andrick said.

 Volunteers from the church designed and created the “Serenity Path,” a half mile walking trail behind the church, which is also open to the public.
