Letter to the editor: Malcolm and Barbara Brooks, Carol Rohl, Gordon Bok

Blessed by the love and care people share for the Children’s Chapel

Fri, 03/01/2019 - 4:15pm

We would like to offer a letter of gratitude, both for Helene Bok’s vision in creating the Children’s Chapel and for all the people who have carried on that vision since 1962. We are thankful for the
expertise, dependability and creative thinking of Deborah Smith Landscape Design, TREEKEEPERS LLC-Johnson’s Arboriculture Tree Care,

Jackson Landscaping Services, Jim Sady, Merryspring Nature Center and Toni Goodridge for all their good work over the years. We also thank Sue Nugent and the Town of Rockport Police Department for opening it in the morning and securing it at night, as well as the many volunteers who have helped us on the fall and spring clean-up days.

We’d also like to thank all the people who have served on the board in their many capacities – some of them for decades. We’d especially like to acknowledge Sonny Goodwin’s thought and help in recent years to make the Chapel a safer place for the public, and Joyce Richard’s thorough efforts in photographing a visual history of the Chapel and those involved with it. You can find her photos in the Walsh History Center at the Camden Public Library.

Again and again we hear that the Chapel makes a difference in people’s lives. We are all blessed by the love and care that people share for this place. Thank you all.
