Belfast’s Holiday on the Harbor brings fun, festivities to Boathouse

BELFAST — Though Santa arrived at Holiday on the Harbor via boat, it was a horse-drawn carriage that escorted he and a lucky few to Belfast’s Boathouse, where festive activities were set up for the many children in attendance.

The event, which took place from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Dec. 8, is sponsored by the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce and Belfast Parks and Rec, with Cornerspring Montessori School responsible for the activities provided.

Those activities included cookie decorating, ornament making, fishing for candy, coloring, and a wide array of balloon animals being made by Kyle the Magical Balloon Artist.

Children were seen carrying a variety of the colorful creations, ranging from a fishing pole with attached fish to Ariel from the Little Mermaid.

While the line for balloons remained roughly fifty people long throughout much of the event, the line for Santa was the longest, at one point snaking almost entirely through the large room.

There were also refreshments, including hot cocoa, cookies, and candy, on hand when those in attendance needed a snack.
