Belfast Maskers to hold auditions for comedic Broadway revue

    BELFAST — Belfast Maskers is looking for adult performers for a comedic Broadway revue that will be produced in early April, 2024. Potential performers can audition on either Wednesday, January 10, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. or Sunday, January 14, from 1 - 3 p.m. The auditions will be held at the Basil Burwell Community Theater, 17 Court Street in Belfast.

    Auditions will consist of singing a song from the provided list: "Comedy Tonight" from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, "This is the Moment" from Jekyll & Hyde, "Popular" from Wicked, or "All That Jazz' from Chicago. Live accompaniment will be provided for auditions.

    The Revue, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Belfast", will be presented at the theater on April 5 and 6 as a fundraiser for New Hope Midcoast, a domestic violence resource center serving 4 different counties in Maine.

    "We hope this brings some fun and laughter while educating the community on the available resources in our area," said director Teri Quappe, in a news release.
