Friday Night Flix Series

Belfast Free Library to screen ‘Sleuth’

Event has passed

“Mix and Match” is the theme for November at the Belfast Free Library’s “Friday Night Flix” film series. The month features an eclectic variety of films from the 1970s to the 2000s. All the movies are free and take place at 7pm in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library.

Nov. 16:  “Sleuth” (1972)  Who doesn’t love a good mystery thriller? Throw in two of the most beloved actors of the 20th Century, Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine, and it’s bound to create nail biting suspense. In the story, a famous author of detective novels and a lower class gent stage an apparent robbery of the author’s home. The author would collect the insurance money and the thief would get the expensive jewels - and the author’s wife. At least, that’s the plan. Both Olivier and Caine were nominated for Best Actor Oscars. The game is afoot and potentially deadly.
