BELFAST — A Bangor man charged with manslaughter in relation to a December 2018 single-vehicle accident that left one dead pleaded not guilty in Waldo County Superior Court June 21.

Monty Judkins, 24, was charged on five counts as a result of the accident, which occurred in Winterport. The charges included manslaughter, aggravated operating after habitual offender revocation, aggravated criminal operating under the influence, driving to endanger, and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.

Judkins was allegedly operating the vehicle despite his license being revoked and he was also under the influence at the time of the wreck, which left 18-year-old Isaac A. Miller deceased.

Another passenger in the vehicle was injured in the crash and transported for medical attention, as was Monty Judkins.

Judkins was released on $500 cash bail not long after his May indictment.

As part of his conditions of release, Judkins is forbidden from using drugs or alcohol and is subject to random searches with or without articulable suspicion. He must also adhere to a 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. curfew and is barred from operating a motor vehicle. Judkins is also banned from contacting two individuals.

Judkins, who now resides in Veazie, had his conditions of release amended June 21.

Judkins is next scheduled to appear in court Aug. 13, at 8:30 a.m.
