WALDOBORO — Student Achievement Center instructor, Harolyn York, has been awarded the 2024 Horace Mann Crystal Apple Award for Distinguished Teaching at Medomak Valley High School.

Having worked in district schools in a variety of roles, York earned her bachelor’s degree and became the Student Achievement Center instructor in 2002. 

Using Virtual High School and Edmentum Courseware, York has persisted in making connections with students and providing online access to quality education, allowing students to recover credits and attain graduation status despite a variety of challenges, according to MVHS, in a news release.

“Medomak Valley High School staff and students are proud of Mrs. York and the important contributions she has made and continues to make to our school community,” said the school.
