Owls Head Transportation Museum

The Owls Head Transportation Museum is home to an operating collection of antique cars, planes, motorcycles and more. In addition to our indoor exhibits, we host a variety of special events that include vintage car rallies, antique airplane shows, auctions, family activities, demonstrations, Model T rides — there's fun for the whole family!

The museum is a non-profit educational organization founded in 1974. Its mission is to collect, preserve, exhibit and demonstrate pioneer aircraft, ground vehicles, engines and related technologies, significant to the evolution of transportation, and/or the state of Maine.

Through a collection of pioneer aircraft complemented by ground vehicles and related technology, the Museum promotes a greater understanding of the history and collective evolution of transportation.

The Museum's core collection focuses on the period from the first attempts at manned flight and wheeled transport to circa 1920. This landmark period in the development of transportation is recognized for milestone achievement that paved the way for modern-day transport.

The goal of the Museum is to promote its mission through a year-round educational experience offering creative and exciting exhibits, events, programs and publications that inspire, promote understanding, perspective and vision.
