Today’s tip for making less trash is make your own soup stock.  This is especially easy if you have a crock pot and your house will smells yummy.  Our Easy Peasy Soup Stock blog has lots of tips.  If you don’t have time to make your own stock try not to buy the tetra packs of stock, which is how stock is commonly sold.  Sometimes you read about how these packs can be recycled but around the mid-coast I don’t know of any place that accepts them.  Instead buy your stock in either a metal can or the stock concentrate which comes in a glass jar with a metal lid.  Remember these little changes can make a big difference.
