With the Trash Mandala Project I’m letting location and trash speak.  I knew sooner or later I would find a balloon.  In general, I don’t find a lot of balloons although I see deflated ones tied to mailboxes and advertising cars for sale.  This find speaks volume- the actual balloon is almost disengaged into tiny bits- was it a Happy Birthday or Congratulations?  Who knows?  The plastic ribbon is still bright and vibrant and is twined around a branch.  The profits from Trash Mandala #3 will go to Balloons Blow.  Balloons Blow provides information to educate people about the destructive effects released balloons have on animals, people, and the environment, and strives to inspire and promote an eco-conscious lifestyle.

The opening is Friday night part of downtown Rockland’s First Friday Art Walk.  It’s at photographer Jim Dugan’s studio, 407 Main St- climb up the stairs.  We’ve got some yummy treats too including umami popcorn and dulse brownies.
