The Study Hall, located on Route 90 in Rockport, has programs designed to help students stay organized and on task. Now that school is well underway, it is important that students practice good study habits. The Study Hall tutors help students in these areas:

  1. Completion of assignments: Your child and his or her tutor will discuss what assignments have or have not been completed since the last meeting. Open communication between the student, the tutor, parents, and teachers is very important in this area.
  2. Planning ahead: Your child and his or her tutor will agree upon a plan for completing current and future assignments, as well as any overdue work. This will include working on time management and prioritization skills, as well as keeping a current and up to date day-planner filled with assignments, schedules, and appointments.
  3. Organization: The tutor will make sure that your child has all necessary materials for completing assignments and is keeping them in an organized manner (usually a three-ring binder). Good note-taking skills are essential for utilizing the information presented in class and will also be emphasized.
  4. Preparation for quizzes and tests: Often the most difficult study skill for students to master, your child and his or her tutor will practice specific methods of studying, depending on the material and the format of the quiz or test.
