In the United States, one in seven people struggle with hunger, and many rely on food from local food banks to help feed their families. Many of us think about making food donations to local food banks at this time of year. We spoke with representatives from our local food banks to find out what types of donations help the most!
Here's a few suggestions:
- Dry Pasta and canned tomato sauce
- Canned tuna or chicken
- Peanut butter
- Baked Beans
- Canned hearty soups and stews
- Dry cereal and oatmeal
- Cooking oils
- Canned vegetables and fruits
- Personal hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine products and diapers
Please, no expired food.
We encourage all of our members and friends to participate! All items can be dropped off at either Y location starting Saturday, October 21st! Thank you!
