Midcoast Interact Couples with One Less Worry

Mon, 04/08/2019 - 4:00pm

Students from the Midcoast Interact Club recently assisted One Less Worry, a nonprofit that provides pads, tampons and essential grooming products to Knox County residents in need.  During a one-hour “packing party,” students prepared enough items for one month of deliveries to area food pantries and schools and donated $200 dollars for future purchases. Director Sharon Hobson notes that over 70,000 pads and tampons have been distributed to twenty locations last year alone.

Interact is a community service club that is sponsored by Rotary International for high school students. The first club was founded in 1962 and grew to more than 450 clubs in over 32 countries in just two years.  Through Interact, students raise funds to provide community service both locally and throughout the world.  Adult mentors provide guidance during student-run meetings.

Midcoast Interact meets at Camden Hills Regional High School immediately after school on Mondays. Brief meetings allow students to be at other after-school events on time.
