The holiday season is fast approaching and everyone should try to celebrate sustainability.  The idea behind celebrating sustainability is not creating a mountain of waste.  The first thing to do is to shop small, local, indie and farms.  Another way to celebrate sustainability is to give events.  Events are simply activities instead of things.  Mark your calendar for Nov 17-18 and head up to Bangor for the Maine Harvest Fest.  Take the family, invite a friend and enjoy a day of Maine.

The festival is filled with farmers and food producers including Maine seaweed companies.  Dulse & Rugosa will be there as well as Maine Coast Sea Vegetables.  There are cooking demos, music a “sipper” section where you can taste cool Maine brews.  You’ll find a handcrafted gift for everyone on your holiday list.  Plus spending your money at the festival keeps Maine’s vibrant and necessary small and indie businesses strong.
