The doors will open at 8 am Saturday, April 14 to welcome shoppers to this year’s indoor “LAWN AND BAKE” sale at the John Street United Methodist Church, 98 John Street, Camden.  Chairwomen Teddy Wilcox and Sharon Danforth will be accepting donations of sale items starting April 8, but they have already been sorting items stored over the winter.  The sorting room is packed with baking tins and other cookware in great condition.  Want a quick cup of tea?  Just buy the electric teapot at a bargain price.  Knitters will find quite a selection of yarns and there is even a hand-sized sewing machine.

Good used clothing in a variety of styles will be sold along with some nice quilts and comforters. For a personal “decorative touch” shoppers may choose items from the jewelry display and for entertaining there are wall decorations, dinnerware and glassware including a punch bowl and cups. Books will be sold, and there is even a bookshelf to put them on.  Other furniture will include tables, desks and chairs.

Everyone in the family, Mom and Dad should be able to find items that suit them, then for the younger shoppers there are toys, dolls, games, puzzles and books.

Shoppers may also treat themselves to sweet treats made by a team of home bakers. The selection will include pies, cakes, cookies, breads and squares to enjoy there or to take home for the family.

Doors close at noon. Proceeds will support the work of the church in the community.
