Cooking With Scraps
Are you a recipe follower? I heard this great podcast recently and the chef told a tale of after a workshop about using taste and intuition everyone asked for the recipe. And the host talked about how recipes were a window into time and in days gone by recipes were a way for women to express themselves and bring about social change.
My latest cookbook from the library is Cooking With Scraps by Lindsay-Jean Hard. And while I’m not a recipe follower I do love the stories and inspiration cookbooks give me. This is a great book if you’ve always wondered what to do with the discarded stems of kale, swiss chard and other greens. I’m also making a beet infused vodka as a Xmas gift. How yum does that sound?
The book is very reasonable priced at 9.99- great holiday/new year gift.
