CAMDEN ROTARY CLUB TO AWARD $25,000 TO LOCAL COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

June 14, 2019 (Camden, Maine) – On June 18, the Camden Rotary Club will present eight organizations with grants totaling $25,000. Organizations receiving grants include:

“The Camden Rotary Club is thrilled to invest in these organizations that make our community better for all our neighbors,” stated Leni Gronros, President of the Camden Rotary Club. “Not only do Camden Rotarians make financial contributions to nonprofit groups in our community, we serve on Boards and we volunteer.”

The Penobscot Bay YMCA is slated to receive this year’s largest grant of $10,000. “The Y has had a long‑standing relationship with the Camden Rotary Club that includes partnering with critical milestones in our history, such as the capital campaign to build our Rockport facility,” stated Melissa Bellew, President/CEO of the Penobscot Bay YMCA. “As the Y nurtures the potential of kids, promotes healthy living, and fosters a sense of social responsibility, we are grateful to the Camden Rotary Club for working with us to ensure that every individual has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow, and thrive.  Children are our future, and Camden Rotary and the Y make terrific partners in this critical work.”

Since 2011, the Camden Rotary Club has invested $202,500 in the community via its grants to nonprofit organizations in Knox County and Lincolnville. Members of the public are invited to attend the Camden Rotary Club’s meeting at noon on Tuesday, June 18, at the First Congregational Church, 55 Elm Street, Camden. Lunch will be available; please contact Diane Lebson at dlebson@evergreenphilanthropy.com to register.
