WINTERPORT — Waldo County Sheriff's Deputy Wiley McVety assisted Maine State Police Trooper Brenda Coolen late Monday afternoon in attempting to make contact with a driver reportedly driving in the wrong direction on I-95.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Coolen believed she knew who the driver was, and that they had a conditional license restricting them from operating a motor vehicle after consuming any alcoholic beverages.

McVety was able to locate and make contact with the driver, identified as William Musor, 46, of Bangor, in Winterport. The deputy confirmed the license restriction, and suspected Musor was intoxicated.

"When questioned about driving on the interstate in the wrong direction, Mr. Musor claimed to be unfamiliar with the area," said the Sheriff's Office in a press release Tuesday.

Tests allegedly confirmed Musor was under the influence, and he was arrested and charged with OUI, class D, and operating a motor vehicle without a license, class D. He was transported to Waldo County Jail and later released on $250 cash bail.
