The Watershed group of nine seniors also earned notable merit scholarships, particularly in arts and academics.  In a news release, Head of School Will Galloway said: “Our students stand out because of the skills they’ve gained at Watershed and the experiences they’ve had applying those skills in the larger community; these foundational skills include problem solving, critical thinking, innovative reasoning, research and analysis, speaking and writing, creativity, and effective collaboration.”

Galloway said personalized, one-on-one advising about the college admissions process is an integral part of the Watershed experience.

“Our families do not need to hire an independent college admissions counselor because that service is built into the Watershed experience,” added Galloway.  “And it’s working exceptionally well.”

Advising students through the college admissions process at Watershed School is a practice that is personal and reflective. All students meet with the school’s college advisor throughout junior and senior years, and are given an opportunity to consider questions about their own strengths, interests, purpose, character, values and contributions. Students and families are asked to think deeply about the significance and importance of education, as well as to consider the future in a broad and meaningful way.

The Watershed School in the heart of Camden is the only private secondary school in the Midcoast. Watershed School offers an intellectually challenging program which encourages students to strive for personal growth and to make meaningful connections and contributions to the world around them. Applications are still be accepted for fall.  For more information and admissions’ inquiries visitwww.watershed-school.org  or call 230-7341.
