WARREN — A Warren 19-year-old is in jail this weekend, after he was arrested on a charge of gross sexual assault, a class A felony, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

Knox County Sheriff's Detective Justin Twitchell arrested Brendan J. Gray, 19, of Warren, Friday afternoon, Oct. 22. The arrest came after Twitchell was notified by Thomaston Police Sgt. Tim Hoppe that the parent of a Thomaston child had filed a complaint on behalf of their child, who was under the age of 12 at the time of the alleged offense.

Hoppe notified the Sheriff’s Office as the assault allegedly occurred outside his jurisdiction, in Warren. Chief Deputy Tim Carroll said in a press Saturday afternoon that he did not yet know when the alleged offense occurred.

After interviewing Gray, and based on information gathered in that interview, Carroll said that Twitchell arrested Gray and transported him to Knox County Jail.

Gray remains at Knox County Jail, held without opportunity to bail until arraignment early this week.
