Waldoboro Police beat: Underage drinking, theft of kayaks, criminal mischief

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 122 calls for service from April 14-20. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. 

    April 14    

    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on Washington Road at 4:34 p.m. Dale Prentice, 65, of Bristol, was driving a 2008 GMC pickup truck and was traveling south on Washington Road. A deer crossed the road in front of the vehicle and was struck. No injuries were sustained. 

    April 15                       

    Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident of the theft of two kayaks. 

    April 16 

    Officer Andrew Santheson issued a summons to Henry Thompson, 48, of Friendship, for operating after suspension. 

    April 17      

    Officer Andrew Santheson arrested Robert Lash, 35, of Waldoboro, for violation of a protection order and violation of a conditional release. 

    April 18                       

    Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a complaint from a store of the theft of rubber gloves. 

    Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident on Friendship Street at 1 p.m. The accident involved Doris Musa, 86, of Nobleboro, who was driving a 2013 Subaru sedan, and Dale Smith, 62, of Waldoboro, who was driving a 2014 Dodge pickup truck. Musa accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the break and struck Smith’s parked vehicle. 

    Officer John Lash issued a summons to a 17 year old male for furnishing a place for minors to consume and possession of alcohol.

    April 19                       

    Officer John Lash is investigating a report from a resident of criminal mischief to motor vehicle tires valued at $800.
