Waldoboro police beat: Theft, crashes, torn-up blueberry fields

    WALDOBORO —  Waldoboro police reported the following activity, March 24-April 7. Waldoboro officers responded to more than 300 calls for service in this time period. Below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

    March 24 
    Officer Thomas Hoepner arrested Kari Anne Labranche, 25, of Edgecomb fo, two counts of theft.

    March 25
    Officer Larry Hesseltine summonsed David Smith, 60, of Cape Porpoise, for uninspected motor vehicle.
    Hesseltine summonsed Percy Nickles, 31, of Union, for attaching false plates.
    Officer Thomas Bartunek summonsed Michael Rogers, 59, of Waldoboro, for uninspected motor vehicle and failure to show proof of insurance.

    March 26
    Officer Larry Heseltine investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 7:55 a.m. Matthew Reyer, 57, of Rockport, was driving a 2009 Toyota sedan west on Atlantic Highway (Route 1). Alan Dever, 46, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2003 GMC pickup truck east on the highway when a rear tire came off his truck and struck the Toyota. Reyer veered off the left side of the roadway. There were no injuries.

    March 30
    Sergeant Jamie Wilson summonsed Jeffery Luce, 35, of Whitfield, for operating after suspension       .

    April 1
    Hesseltine is investigating a report of the theft of a cell phone.
    Hesseltine summonsed Joseph Boardman, 28, of Waldoboro, for an uninspected motor vehicle.

    April 2
    Hesseltine summonsed a juvenile, of Waldoboro, for operator in possession of open container.
    Hesseltine summonsed Tammy Sawyer, 51, of Bristol, for uninspected motor vehicle.
    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on the Genthner Road at 7:09 p.m.  Michelle Collamore, 40, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2012 Toyota sedan east on the Genthner Road when she swerved to avoid a deer crossing the roadway. Her vehicle went off into the soft shoulder and struck a utility pole.  No injuries were reported.

    April 3
    Hesseltine summonsed William Day, 41, of Bath, for uninsured motor vehicle and uninspected motor vehicle.
    Hesseltine summonsed Ryan Parlin, 25, of Bremen, for failure to register motor vehicle, operating after suspension and failure to provide proof of insurance.

    April 4
    Sergeant Jamie Wilson summonsed Brianna Pozerycki, 18, of Waldoboro, for theft.

    April 5
    Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report of damage to blueberry fields with a motor vehicle.
    Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident at 2:34  p.m. on the Atlantic Highway.  Joseph Mcgurn, 65, of Rockland, was driving a 2013 VW sedan.  Amanda Hoppe, 17, of South Thomaston, was driving a 2012 Ford sedan. McGurn attempted to change lanes, striking the Ford’s passenger side. There were no injuries.

    April 6

    Officer Jeffery Fuller summonsed Jeffery Wren, 54, of Waldoboro, for operating under the influence.
