Waldoboro Police beat: Marijuana possession, arrest warrants, criminal threatening

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 260 calls for service from Nov. 17-23. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. 

    Nov. 18 

    Leona Cocco, 42, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Larry Hesseltine for attaching false plates and violation of conditional release. 

    Jacob Ingraham, 19, of Union, was issued a summons by Officer John Lash for possession of marijuana. 

    Nov. 19 

    Shelley Landers, 46, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Andrew Santheson for a violation of conditional release. 

    Karena Parker, 38, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Santheson on a warrant. 

    Santheson is investigating a report from the Community Pharmacy regarding a theft. 

    Harold Martin, 50, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Sergeant Jamie Wilson on a warrant. 

    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on Old Augusta Road at 8:08 p.m. Allen Muir, 26, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2013 Dodge sedan. Muir’s vehicle was traveling west on Old Augusta Road. A deer crossed the roadway in front of Muir’s vehicle and he struck the deer. No injuries were reported. 

    Nov. 20 

    John Staples, 52, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Wilson for criminal threatening. 

    Wilson is investigating a report from a resident of criminal mischief to his lawn.

    Nov. 21    

    Wilson is investigating a report from a resident that someone stole her glasses from her motor vehicle. 

    Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident that someone is trespassing on his land, cutting trees and tearing down his “no trespassing” signs. 

    Nov. 22       

    Officer John Lash investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway and Union Road intersection. Justin Smith, 24, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2013 Mazda sedan. Smith was traveling south on Atlantic Highway, hit the divider median and a  stop sign on Union Road, continued through the intersection and hit a curb. The vehicle traveled off roadway and came to rest in a yard on Union Road. Smith was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol. Injuries were reported.
