Waldoboro Police beat: DUI, stolen wallet, assault

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 149 calls for service from Jan. 23-30. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. 

    Jan. 24 

    Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated an accident on the Washington Road at 9:45 a.m. Phillip Rash 56, of Washington, was driving a 2001 Nissan pickup truck. Rash was traveling southbound, following the roadway, hit black ice and lost control. His vehicle spun around in the road and left the road on the left side, hitting a dirt embankment. No injuries were reported.  

    Officer Chris Spear is investigating a report from a citizen of the theft of her wallet. 

    Jan. 25        

    Shannon Cochrane, 41, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Hesseltine for operating under the influence (drugs or combination) and endangering the welfare of a child. 

    Jan. 26        

    Daniel Parlin, 47, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Office Thomas Bartunek for domestic violence assault and refusing to submit to arrest or detention.  

    Jan. 29       

    A 17-year-old male juvenile, of Union, was issued a summons by Spear for assault. 

    Jan. 30        

    Jeffery Dudley, 30, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for operating after suspension.
