WALDOBORO — A 39-year-old Waldoboro man was arrested Jan. 9 by Somerset County Sheriff’s Deputies for a series of domestic violence related crimes in Waldoboro beginning Jan. 3 and ending Jan. 7, according to a press release from Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde.

Jonathan Tarr, of Waldoboro, made his initial court appearance Jan. 12 following a complaint filed by the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office. He was charged with kidnapping, gross sexual assault, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault, domestic violence assault and obstructing the report of a crime, according to Labombarde.

On Jan. 25, a hearing was conducted in Wiscasset Superior Court where the state sought to have Tarr held without bail. Tarr was granted bail and the conditions of his bail are not available at this time, said Labombarde.

Tarr was initially transported to Somerset County Jail and later transferred to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.

Labombarde said the investigation is ongoing.
