Deputy Cassandra McDonald responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Belfast Road in Knox where an operator failed to see an oncoming car when attempting to pull into traffic. The driver of a 2017 Toyota was pulling out of a convenience store where her view of traffic was reportedly obstructed by a parked truck, causing her to creep out into the road. The driver of an oncoming vehicle told officers she saw the driver of the Toyota and did not believe its driver could see her vehicle approaching and attempted to take evasive measures but the two vehicles collided. The Toyota struck the other vehicle, a 2005 Mercedes, on its passenger side door, with the Mercedes continuing on and sustaining additional damage when the Toyota’s front bumper dragged along its side. The driver and two passengers of the Toyota were uninjured in the accident as was the driver of the Mercedes.
