BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity Nov. 13-24. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    Nov. 13

Deputy Darrin Moody responded to the scene of a crash involving a moose on Route 1 in Northport. The operator was unable to avoid the animal in the roadway, resulting in damage to the roof of the 2015 Subaru. The driver, who was wearing their seat belt, received a possible head injury. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Deputy Moody responded to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Route 1 in Northport, where the operator was found to be traveling southbound too quickly for the rainy conditions. The 2010 Chevrolet hydroplaned, causing the operator to lose control and the vehicle to cross the center line before going off the road on the northbound side. The vehicle flipped onto the roof and was towed from the scene. The driver was uninjured.

The driver was uninjured.

    Nov. 24

Dustin R. Whitcomb, 19, of Unity, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a license on Belfast Road in Knox. Whitcomb was also issued a summons for possession of a usable amount of marijuana.
