Passenger in crash now listed in critical condition

UPDATED: Motorcycle and car collide in Rockland crash

    ROCKLAND — The passenger riding on a motorcycle that was involved in a crash Thursday, June 8, with a car at the intersection of Park Street and Broadway, is now listed in critical condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland, according to a hospital spokesperson June 13.

    Edith Davis, 70, of Thomaston, who was a passenger in the motorcycle driven by Walter Davis, 72, of Thomaston, were both transported by Rockland EMS to Pen Bay Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, which was the initial report from the accident scene. 


    ROCKLAND — A crash Thursday, June 8, around 12:30 p.m. between a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of Park Street and Broadway, sent two people to the hospital with minor injuries.  

    According to Rockland Police Sgt. Don Finnegan, Leda B. Fox, 52, of Brooks was driving a 2006 Hyundai Electra. As Fox was making a right-hand turn from Park Street onto Broadway, she did not see the motorcycle coming through the intersection. Walter Davis, 72, of Thomaston, was driving a 1989 Kawasaki motorcycle with a passenger, Edith Davis, 70, also of Thomaston.

    Fox struck the rear tire of the motorcycle causing it to rollover, said police.

    The Davis couple were transported by Rockland EMS to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport. Fox did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
